Hi, I'm Andrea.
I am a scientist and engineer specializing in photonic quantum technologies, based in Cambridge, UK.
I am passionate about the science of light and its significant potential to advance the fields of secure communications and computing. My research spans from exploring the fundamentals of semiconductors and solid-state quantum emitters to engineering optimized single-photon sources.
Additionally, I have a longstanding interest in leveraging numerical simulations to study optical effects in nano-photonic devices, combining theoretical understanding with practical development.
Brief biography
I received a Bachelor's and a Master's degree in Engineering Physics from the Polytechnic University of Milan. Following my graduation, I relocated to the UK where I obtained a PhD in Physics at the University of Sheffield, earned as a Marie Curie fellow while working at Toshiba's Quantum Information Group. Currently, I work as a Senior Research Scientist at Toshiba Europe Ltd in Cambridge, where I continue to advance research in the field of nano-photonics and quantum information.
